Mr. & Mrs. Christopher & Rebecca Ryan

Saturday, June 27, 2009 Laurel Hall Indianapolis, Indiana
Christopher Rex Ryan & Rebecca Jane Baney

This day has been a long time coming! Chris and Becky got engaged five months before we did and are getting married two months after us! It was a beautiful, hot summer day and Becky Jane looked stunning as she walked to her groom out on the terrace of Laurel Hall. We have not been to this venue in the 20 something weddings we have been to. It is an amazing mansion with such great architecture. The colors Becky choose of clover and coral looked great with the greenery and sunlight.

Bon Voyage Kelly & Gary

As I write this post it is really bittersweet. I am so happy for Kelly & Gary and their new beginnings, but I am sad because my true best friend now lives 9 hours away. For the past three years, Kelly and I have lived about 2 hours apart but always knew that when I came to visit my family in the region we could also hang out! And I was close enough in Indy that she could come visit for the weekend at the Sapphire Berry Inn. So many great memories together over the past 16 years, and now we will just have to make more great memories from a distance:) Many visits on school breaks will be needed as well!

The Rogers and the Longfields threw a great party to wish Kelly and Gary well as they made their way out to Virginia. There was a jumpy playhouse for the kiddies, tons of food and drink, and of course corn hole!! Whitney and I had a great time and we wish you the best of luck out in Viriginia! Our next vacation is to see you:) Keep the wedding plans coming...less than 6 months!

On our way back to Indy in the new vehicle! Had to capture the moment!

Randi's 1st New Car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My brand new Mitsubishi Outlander!!! I am in love :) So I was driving a 1998 Honda Accord with about 135,000 miles on it. Now most would say I could have kept driving the good ol' Honda but she was having some mechanical problems and was not going to be safe to drive for much longer, especially since I drive on the highway everyday to work. Whitney came to me a few weeks ago and said he had looked at a few cars. I never thought the day would come that I got to drive the new car in the family! I was pumped to begin the search. We knew we wanted a midsized SUV because with the dogs and planning for the future we just needed more room for traveling.

We searched high and low and believe me it was not as fun as I thought it would be. First of all, I dislike pushy car dealers. We had bought Whitney's Mitsubishi RaliArt just a year ago so we knew what it was like to look at vehicles. We looked at a Lexus, a Ford, a Mazda CX7 and CX9, and many more but something lead me to believe Andy Mohr Mitsubishi would give us a great deal since we had purchased Whitney's car there. I was sold the minute I looked at it but of course Whitney had a price in mind and that was the decision maker. We bargained and eventually were offered the car in the show room exactly where we drove Whitney's off the lot.

It has a lot of great features! A tailgate that folds down and this makes it much easier to load cargo in and out. It has a small 3rd row seat, a sunroof and bluetooth which is great for all the driving I do to work!

It has a DVD entertainment system for when we eventually had kids, black leather interior with heated seats, navigation, satellite radio, a hard drive to store music, and the rear seats fold down and up so it's holds a lot when we need it.

Backyard Improvement

Whitney and I decided that this summer our deck that we want to design would probably not happen due to other priorities and expenses, so we decided to fix up our backyard for a lesser amount of dinero! Since we have 2 wonderful pups, they like to romp around in the backyard and tear it up. Lovely landscaping is just not an option so we decided to cover the dirt areas around our house with sod. Each time it would rain our dogs would have lovely mud areas to play in and track into our house. Our carpet has had enough!

We had to start by transplanting some plants and used them on the side of our house to fill in some empty spots. Then we had to grate down the dirt in order to make the sod level to the other grass. This was the hard part! Laying the sod was super easy and it made the backyard look a little bigger and much nicer! Thanks again Crow for letting us borrow the truck to transport the sod!

All of the extra dirt had to be put into bags in order to get rid of it. What a pain! As you can see Whitney is working really hard. Don't worry I worked really hard too at capturing some great pictures! I did help as much as I could....

Right side final product! Now if we can just get Lacy to leave my favorite plant alone!

Happy Birthday Hubby

Whitney's 28th birthday was Monday, June 1st. I decided to bake him his favorite chocolate cake with vanilla icing and sprinkles before he got home from work. It was a surprise! He had already received his birthday present a few weeks earlier, a Blackberry Storm. So he had a few cards to open from Lucy, Lacy, and myself and a delicious cake. We sang him happy birthday and enjoyed some cake after dinner. We decided to go out to dinner and enjoyed some seafood at Red Lobster. It was a fantastic evening of celebration!

Doggy Play Date

The last weekend in May Whitney and I actually got to spend the entire weekend at home! We decided to have a cookout with Partenheimer's, Korey, Kelly, and Killian. It is always great to get together with family. Korey and Kelly graciously said they would host the nights festivities. It was a great time for food, drink, and to let our pups have a play date. Killian, Lucy, and Lacy had a ball running around the backyard although Lucy was not being very polite and kept barking at Killian. Lacy and Killian became best friends, although Lacy would pretend to play dead when he approached her. Must be a small dog mentality;)

And then there was the nasty storm that was both North and South of us. It forced our cookout to be pushed inside but we still had a great time!
