So after planning our wedding with the help of Tonya Shadoan of Circle City Planners, I found this great outlet in my life that I never considered doing. Although I love teaching, I love planning and organizing too (they go hand in hand)! So after the wedding was all said and done, I knew I could not just stop there. I loved the process too much so I decided to take a class from Tonya about wedding planning. It included all the tips and secrets of the business. It was a great opportunity to see if this was something I really wanted to try doing! After the four week class, I had my one-on-one meeting with Tonya and she approached me about this great idea. She wanted me, along with her current assistant Laurenne, to start doing weekend cooridination. I was beyond thrilled and honored to possibly be a part of the CCP team! So I talked it over with Whitney and with his support, we decided this was something for me! Not long after that Circle City Weekenders had our first wedding the weekend of August 15th for Julia and Beau!

This was a great experience and I can't wait for more to come! I spent the day with the bride and the rest of the bridal party making sure everything went well for Julia on her big day. After the outdoor ceremony, I made sure the bridal party was taken care of during pictures and as they walked into the beautiful reception. They rest of the night was full of making sure things were running as scheduled and that the bride and groom were enjoying themselves. The sparker send off was sensatioal at the end of the night! Lesson number one learned....you must find the most comfortable, cute shoes to be standing in for at least 12 hours! I thought I had accomplished that until Sunday morning when they hurt so bad I could barely walk. I guess with time that will get better:)

It's a Date
Booked!
The first full weekend in August the Sapphire Berry Inn was booked from Thursday through Sunday. We had a house full! On Thursday evening my family arrived (Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Sharon, & Julie) because my cousin was moving back to Muncie for her senior year at the Indiana Academy. Move in was taking place early Friday morning and since we live only 45 minutes for Muncie they decided to spend the night in order to make the drive easier and of course to visit us too!
Friday my friend Nick was coming into town as well for the Drum Corps International Semi Finals and Finals at Lucas Oil Stadium. We had made plans to hang out and go to Semi-Finals Friday night. I used to go to these shows all the time but now it will probably be once a year since DCI Finals are in Indy for the next 8 years! It was great seeing Nick and being able to hang out in Indy. This was his first trip to see our house since we moved in. My family was also back in town Friday night from Muncie because they were going to go back to Muncie Saturday morning. So needless to say Nick took Julie's spot on the air mattress since she was at her dorm for the night.

Saturday, Nick headed to visit with another friend and Whitney went to the driving range. I spent some time with Grandma taking her to some local quilting shops and the rest of the family headed back up the Muncie and then home to NW Indiana. Grandma, Whitney, and I headed to lunch together and then she headed back home too. That night Whitney and I had plans to go to his company picnic. Only one room occupied Saturday night at the Sapphire Berry Inn...Nick came back after finals Saturday night to crash! What a weekend:)

A weekend at home....
So as many people know Whitney and I travel a lot to see both of our families or to attend a function out of town! The last weekend of July and the first of August was spent at home! It is always great to be at home. We had been planning a garage sale since the beginning of the summer and just couldn't find the time. So that is what we used this weekend for....we had the sale Friday and Whitney was gracious enough to sit outside the whole time as he only works half days on Friday. Saturday was my turn to do the work. At first we were not sure if our old junk would go, but started off well Friday. Saturday was slow until mid afternoon when I was all by myself and I swear the whole town showed up and took everything including our old bedroom furniture! I felt like the garage was spinning but we made a lot of money and most of our stuff we had been storing since before the wedding was outta here:) We are still going to participate in our community garage sale in September if we happen to be in town....hopefully the rest will go then!
After the sale we headed over to our friends Tim and Katie's house to participate in a cornhole tournament. We went into the tournament thinking we were going to just donate our $20 entry fee and bow out in the first round. Whitney and I do not play too much cornhole except for when at cookouts once in awhile. In fact, we do not even our a set of boards. It was double elimination. We won our first match and lost our second. This meant we would have to play a lot in the losers bracket to win anything. After a bunch more rounds we lost and ended up taking 5th place! That was amazing for us but no $$$! Maybe next time!
We had a relaxing Sunday with the dogs. It was great being at home and being able to see friends and hang out! It think our next weekend like this will be at the end of August!

Whitney's 10 Year High School Reunion!
Whitney and I headed down to Huntingburg, Indiana for his 10 year reunion and to celebrate his mom's birthday. The festivities started with Whitney golfing with some of his high school buddies at the Huntingburg Country Club. I stayed at his parents and slept in :) While he was golfing all day I made a cake with Luxey and Waylan for Deb's birthday. The evening consisted of a dinner back at the Country Club where Whitney got to see old classmates and catch up. It ended up being a great time! Sunday we went to church and lunch with Whitney's extended family and then left for Indy.
