Fun in the Sun...No SNOW

Our dogs love the snow, so when I was on break from school and we got about 5 inches I decided to go out and run around with them.  I am not a huge fan unless it is white and fresh.  It just looks so pretty!  About 15 minutes after we stepped outside our backyard full of pretty, white snow was no longer but Lucy and Lacy had a ball....isn't that what happens when you have kids....

I was also a good wife that day and graciously shoveled the driveway twice:)  Whitney was impressed when he arrived home from work.  Love you Whit!

A New Space

It's finally done!  Our newest home improvement, our laundry room  has a new look:)  Take a look at the process through pictures.  You can also look at the previous blog but this documents all of the dirty work.  Whitney and I made a great team!  I really love home projects and I do not just sit and watch....I love participating and learning.  Whitney would say I love spending money but he would also give me credit for mortaring the backer board and every tile in place:)  I now leave the door open so that I can look at it every time I walk by it.  A new laundry room has given me every reason to want to do laundry.

To New Beginnings

This year we decided to celebrate bringing in 2010 with the Partenheimer's here in Fishers!  We bought tickets to the New Years Eve bash at Britton Tavern which is five minutes from our house.  I guess you could say we planned on being low key this year since we did not go downtown or travel to STL, but let me tell you we had a blast!!!!  We had dinner, drinks, yummy snacks later on, played Left Right Center as a drinking game, enjoyed The Flying Toasters band, and of course dancing later!  We had so much fun with Kelly and Korey, New Year's Day we did nothing but lay on the couch and watch football.  Thanks again for a great night and cheers to

"New Beginnings & New Lungs!"

Whitney being silly although I really like this picture:)

Korey & Whitney were pretty obsessed with the lead singer of the band

Maybe Whitney thought Kelly was going to steal their pitcher...

Happy New Year 2010

Random Post....

This was before the holidays but I forgot to post it!  So most people that know us know that our dogs are like our children for right now....before we left for the wedding and holidays up north we gave the dogs a bath.  Lucy loves bath time and Lacy on the other hand does not!  In fact she hides in the corner so that I can't reach her.  Whitney decided to take some pictures of this...Enjoy!

Not happy about this...

Laundry Room Renovation

During my 3 weeks off I tend to be on the bored side after the holiday hustle and bustle is over and Whitney goes back to work.  This winter I decide that it would be a great idea to fix up the laundry room!  We have been wanting to tile our laundry room, bathrooms, kitchen and entry way for some time.  We also have just enough tile given to us by a friend to use in the laundry room.  So the plans I proposed to Whitney were to give it a fresh coat of paint (I love doing this actually), put a cabinet for storage on the wall behind the washer/dryer, tile the floor, and possibly update the fixture.  This project being all DIY so that we learn how to tile an easy space, since our laundry room is pretty square, and save money by doing it ourselves.  Whitney said it was a go and I started immediatly!  Currently you can see what I have done with Whitney's help on the cabinet and floor removal.  Tiling is next...I can't wait to see the final product!  After all is done we have some new chocolate colored laundry hampers to add that my brother gave us for Christmas and our ironing board that matches as well:)

Fresh coat of a light plum paint with chocolate brown strips.

Here you can see the new tile we will be putting down

New cabinet...this almost fell on top of us because it was not quite in the studs the first time but no worries it is now in the right spot and holding up well!

Love being organized!
