A Rogers Winter Wonderland

Did I mention that my best friend got married?! After 12 years together Kelly and Gary finally tied the knot on December 19, 2009! The weekend started off with a morning at the spa:) Much needed relaxation for the bride but I am not sure how much of that she really did...

Gary's parents threw a amazing dinner at Houlihan's after rehearsal Friday night. Dinner, drinks, and of course the pre wedding gathering were such a great time! I actually got to spend some time with my hubby before it was off to the hotel for a girls night:)

This is where I have to interject about the crazy night we had at the hotel....not crazy as in up all hours partying but more like up all hours because we thought our room was on fire! Around midnight Kelly started smelling fire and so we took all of our stuff out of the room and went to the other girls room and called the front desk. They moved our room but did nothing about the odd smell! Room #2- Smelled like someone used the bathroom all over it (to put it nicely). So Kelly marched downstairs with gear in hand and complained. We got another room. Room #3- between the room the smelled like fire and the room that did not smell right....at least it was a room:) Around 2am a sound came from the hallway that sounded like ice dropping. Kelly immediately called the front desk and the lady said, "Oh yeah the ice machine does that! People complain all the time!" Now why would you put the 3 girls, one of which who is getting married the next morning, who has already been moved two other times, here! Beats me! We finally settled in but I am not sure how much actuall sleep we got!
Saturday morning started off at the Color Room to get all of our hair and make-up done. Don't worry we made a stop at Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts:) Kelly drinking her morning Tea.
Curlers in the hair for almost everyone.

The hoodie the girls gave Kel.
Perfect hair no less

I can finally post Kelly's dress. It was just perfect on her and perfect for a winter icy wedding. Did I mention it snowed that day....Kelly was thrilled!

Her favorite part was the detail in the middle.

Our dresses. I wore the dark dress and the rest of the girls were in the icy blue color.
A few final pictures and off to the church we went. I wish I had pictures of the rest of the day. It was just too busy and my camera somehow made its way to my parents:( Hopefully I will get some good ones from the photographer since Kelly and Gary get their images:)

Short comments about the rest of the day... the ceremony was lovely. It definitely made me tear up seeing Kelly walk down the isle. After the rings and vows were exchanged, we headed in our party limo for pictures before we arrived at the reception. The reception was great as well! Thanks to my parents and aunts for helping set up everything. We couldn't have done it without you! The hall looked great! After dinner, it was time to give my much awaited toast.....I think everything went great and I got through it without crying until the end! After that was over it was time to see my hubby and enjoy the rest of the night! Thanks again Mr. & Mrs. Rogers for letting me be a special part of your special day!
